Role Overview:
Join our team as a Senior Software Engineer focused on bringing our Java & Kubernetes based applications to cloud. Nuix's Platform Solution - Nuix Neo Local, Cloud and SaaS are built on Kubernetes and AWS. Nuix Neo integrates our capabilities into a unified product platform and we’re on a mission to have this platform deployable anwhere.
As a key player in our highly collaborative agile environment, you'll develop world-class products while mentoring team members and maintaining deep architectural understanding. You'll work closely with Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Architects, and the broader organization to deliver products that benefit both Nuix and our customers.
This position will be based in our Sydney office. The candidate is required to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week but may voluntarily elect to work either remotely or from the Sydney office for the remaining 2 days of the week.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead and influence strategy around platform and service architectures
- Product Engineering: Plan and develop new capabilities build to Nuix Engineering standards. This role focusses on SaaS and cloud enablement of our Nuix Neo platform.
- Collaboration: Work within and across teams to develop a cohesive deploy-your-way platform
- Technical Excellence:
- Participate in planning, backlog grooming, and technical design discussions
- Document features thoroughly and maintain high code quality standards
- Conduct and participate in code reviews for continuous improvement

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
What We’re Looking For
- Education: Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or related quantitative discipline
- Experience: 7+ years of experience with cloud, developing and operating a SaaS product in a Kubernetes ecosystem. AWS & production SaaS operations experience highly desirable. Experience of IaC, cloud automation, observability, cost optimsation, reliability engineering highly desirable. Java or experience on any another programming language would be useful.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities and technical experience at a senior level
- Ability to learn and be-proactive. You’ll be identifying opportunities and solving any challenges on our way to Nuix Neo SaaS and Nuix Neo Cloud offering
- Experience with building and operating shared/service-oriented platform architectures, particularly in a production SaaS environment
